What do they do?
Our school council tries to help by listening to the pupils’ points of view and then passing this information onto the school Head and the Governors. They do this to try to make the school be the best it can be.
How are they chosen?
There are two representatives (male/female) from each year group; that is twelve in total. Each pupil has the chance to volunteer to be a School Council Candidate. We are all given the chance to stand for election and then each pupil chooses who they think would be the best person to represent them.
How often do they meet?
The school council meets at least twice a term and discuss what the pupils think would make the school a better place. We discuss things like the school dinners and playground equipment. This gives the pupils a part in how the school works.
