The Governors of The Colleton School
A warm welcome to you and your children from the Governing Body of The Colleton Primary School.
As school Governors, our most important role is monitoring the safety, welfare and education of all our children. The Colleton core values, ethos and school motto – ‘To be, rather than to seem to be’ – are at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that an excellent academic and social education is provided for our children. The governors reflect the whole school approach in that we are very ‘open’ and welcome input and comments from our community.
The governors meet together for a Full Governing Body meeting twice a term. To divide our workload we operate a committee system – Staff & Finance, Curriculum and Sites & Buildings. These committees meet at least once a term, working to shape and share the school’s strategic vision and ethos; evaluate its effectiveness; and regularly monitor the standards achieved and the quality of education.
The governors would encourage you to visit the school to see it in operation – ‘step inside and feel the difference’.
